McCune Ranch Outfitters Hog Hunting Locations
We have several designated hunting locations on our property along with many places to walk and stalk. Every designated hunting location is equipped with an automated feeder, solar powered motion activated feeder light and a ground blind or tree stand. We use real time cameras to monitor hog activity at each location. Based on experience and the camera data we will choose which locations to use each day of your hunt. Below you find descriptions of some of our most popular tree stand and ground blind hunting locations.
The Harvest Trail Hunting Location
Our Harvest Trail Hunting Location is setup to use a 12 foot tree stand or from a ground blind. This location is a short walk from camp. The distance to the feeder from the tree stand and ground blind is about 50 yards.
The Pork Chop Hunting Location
Our Pork Chop Hunting Location uses a 10 foot tree stand. The distance to the feeder is about 30 yards so this location is popular with bow and rifle hunters. This location is the closest hunting location to camp, hunters can walk to this location in just a few minutes.
The Seven Ponds Hunting Location
Seven Ponds is our most requested hunting location. At Seven Ponds you are shooting across a pond to hit your target. The distance to the feeder is about 50 yards. Right behind the lighted feeder is a wooded area and large swamp that the hogs use as a bedding area and for access to the property.
The Cedars Hunting Location
The Cedars is a ground blind hunting location over looking a lighted feeder. The ground blind is placed in the forest based on wind direction. This location is perfect for experience hunters using thermal or night vision technology.
The Pig Creek Hunting Location
Pig Creek is a ground blind hunting location. The ground blind is placed between 30 and 90 yards from the lighted feeder based on the hunters preference. There is a creek next to this location that the hogs use to move across the property. Multiple groups of hogs often pass through this area every night which gives the hunter several chances to take a hog each night.
The Ant Farm Hunting Location
Ant Farm is a tree stand hunting location. This location is popular with bow and rifle hunters. The lighted feeder is located just next to a wooded area close to a swamp and a creek. The hogs are known to visit this location both during daytime and nighttime hours.
