How we Hunt Texas Wild Hogs at McCune Ranch Outfitters, LLC

McCune Ranch Outfitters Serves One Group of Hunters at a Time

When you book a hunt with us your group will be the only hunting party on the property.  Your hunting guide is dedicated to making sure you have a good experience on the ranch and will be available to help you for a successful wild hog hunt.

The McCune Ranch Property – 100% Free Range Hunting

The McCune Ranch Property is about 600 acres in size.  We do not offer high fence or pinned animals to hunt.  The property is a mix of heavily wooded areas, stock ponds, pastures with creeks and a swamp running across the property.  The creeks and swamp flow into the Sabine River a short distance away. This provides an endless supply of Free Range Texas Wild Hogs from the Sabine River bottoms.

Semi Guided Hunts

At McCune Ranch Outfitters your hunting guide will be available to transport you to your hunting location.

Types Of Hunting Available

  • Walk and Stalk Hunting
  • Hunting From Ground Blinds Overlooking Lighted Feeders
  • Tree Stands

Walk And Stalk Hunting

You can walk for miles alongside the main swamp that cuts through our property.  You will be walking through heavily wooded/remote areas next to the swamp where the hogs tend to stay during the daytime hours.  Your guide will drop you off, provide directions and arrange to pick you up at the end of the trail.   Call your guide and he will retrieve you and any hogs you harvested on your walk and stalk hunt.

Ground Blinds And Tree Stands Overlooking Lighted Feeders

Our lighted feeder hunting locations provide the best opportunity to harvest wild hogs. No specialized hunting equipment is required.  Our feeder lights are bright enough to use without any night vision or thermal scopes.  For the best results plan on staying at your designated hunting location for up to four hours after sunset.

Customized Hunting Experience

At McCune Ranch Outfitters we can customize your hunting experience to fit your needs. For example if you are not mobile enough to walk and stalk hunt, we can offer you a ground blind at locations where our feeders are programed to feed during the daytime.

The Best Time to Hunt Hogs

The best hog hunting action is at night, hogs are mostly nocturnal.  These animals spend much of the daytime hours in the swamps or deep into the woods.  They tend to come out of their hiding places in the late evenings to search for food.  Therefor, be prepared to hunt late into the night for the best results.
